Jewelry Materials & Care
Understanding Your Jewelry
At Etta Row, we believe beautiful jewelry should fit effortlessly into your everyday life. Because different materials offer different benefits, we want you to know exactly what you’re wearing and how to care for it.
14K Gold Filled PLUS™ Care
Our 14K Gold Filled PLUS™ pieces feature layers of genuine 14K gold permanently bonded to a durable marine-grade stainless steel core. With double the gold layers and a superior stainless steel core, Gold Filled PLUS™ is designed for lasting beauty and everyday wear.
Waterproof • Tarnish-resistant • Hypoallergenic • Nickel-free
You can wear Gold Filled PLUS™ while showering, swimming, or working out. To keep your jewelry looking its best, gently wipe it with a soft cloth as needed and store it safely when not being worn.
Gold Vermeil Care
Gold vermeil is made with a thick layer of real gold over sterling silver, so a little extra care will help preserve its beautiful finish.
Avoid prolonged contact with water, lotions, perfumes, hairspray, household cleaners, and other chemicals. We recommend removing your vermeil jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
After wearing, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth and store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in a pouch or jewelry box to help prevent scratching and tarnish.
With proper care, your gold vermeil pieces can stay beautiful for years to come.
Sterling Silver Care
Sterling silver is a beautiful, timeless metal that can naturally tarnish over time. To keep it looking its best, avoid prolonged contact with moisture, perfumes, lotions, hairspray, chlorine, and household chemicals.
Remove your sterling silver jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping. After wearing, gently wipe each piece with a soft polishing cloth and store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in an airtight pouch or jewelry box.
If tarnish develops, a sterling silver polishing cloth can help restore its shine. With proper care, sterling silver can stay beautiful for many years.
Care by Material
Not every Etta Row piece is made from the same material. Always check the individual product description for its specific material and care information. As our collection grows, we’ll continue adding material-specific guidance here so you can enjoy each piece for years to come.
